Ask a lawyer on the topic of Immigration law

How can I bring my family to Germany?

Dear lawyer for foreign law,

My name is Wolfgang Koch and I have a question regarding the topic of family reunification to Germany. My family is currently living in a country outside of the EU and I would like them to come to Germany to be with me.

The current situation is that I have been living and working here in Germany for several years. My family consists of my wife and our two children. Due to the distance and the resulting separation, we are all suffering greatly from the situation. My children miss their mother and I miss my family deeply.

My concern is that the process of family reunification could be very complicated and lengthy. I have heard that there are many legal hurdles and regulations that need to be followed. Therefore, I am unsure of how to proceed and what specific steps I need to take to bring my family to Germany.

Can you please assist me and provide possible solutions on how to initiate the family reunification process? I am willing to provide all necessary documents and paperwork to make the process as smooth as possible.

Thank you in advance for your support and advice.

Sincerely,
Wolfgang Koch

Dear Mr. Koch,

Thank you for your inquiry regarding family reunification in Germany. I understand how difficult the situation is for you and your family and would like to assist you in making the process as smooth as possible.

First and foremost, it is important to know that family reunification is regulated in the Residence Act. There, the requirements and conditions that must be met for your family to come to Germany are specified. Among the most important requirements are usually that you have sufficient financial resources to support your family's livelihood in Germany, as well as suitable housing where your family can be accommodated.

Furthermore, you must prove that your wife and children have valid passports and may need to apply for a visa to enter Germany. In some cases, it may also be necessary for your family to complete an integration course to integrate into Germany.

To initiate the process of family reunification, I recommend contacting a specialized counseling center or an attorney specializing in immigration law. There, you can receive comprehensive advice and assistance in compiling all necessary documents.

It is important to carefully review all requirements and conditions and prepare all necessary documents diligently to avoid possible delays in the process. With the right preparation and support, it should be possible to successfully realize family reunification.

I hope that this information has been helpful to you and I am available for any further questions. I wish you success in implementing family reunification and hope that you will soon be reunited with your family.

Best regards,
